They commit to memory the contribution of great seven Rishis(saints) like Kashyap, Atri, Bharadwaj, Vishwamitra, Gautam, Janadagni and Vashishtha. So, it is called Rishi Panchami

Celebrated on the Panchami (Fifth Day) of Shukala Paksha (Waxing moon period) in the Hindu Month of Bhadrapada, Nepali women take a holy both early in the morning to mark the Rishi Panchami Festival and seek forgiveness from Sapta Rishis( seven saints) for the sins committed during their monthly periods throughout the year.

Hindu women on red attire with gold jewelries arrange the idol of Saptarshi and perform pooja as instructed by the religious pundits.

women brush their teeth with a herbal stick locally known as "Daatyaun”.

Meanwhile, women devotees have thronged the Saptarishi temples in Nagdaha, Gupteswor Mahadev , Changunarayan, Dattatraya and Ashapuri Mahadev of Bhaktapur.
